Hi! I’m Emma Myllynen, a Helsinki-based textile designer. I graduated in spring 2024 from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, and I’m now pursuing my dreams in the creative field.
I'm a curious designer who loves experimenting with new ideas and techniques. I draw inspiration from everyday life, fleeting details and even dreams and hidden corners of my mind. I'm drawn to textures, tiny little details and unexpected color combinations. I also have a soft spot for cute things. <3
As a designer, I balance playfulness with meticulous attention to detail. Patterns are at the heart of my work. I’m fascinated by the stories they carry, their nostalgic charm and the harmony of color and composition. My strengths lie in color, concept development, technical skills and coming up with ideas.
Before studying design, I majored in Japanese at university and have spent extended periods in East Asia, experiences that have broadened my perspective and strengthened my practical language skills.
I’m always open to new creative collaborations and opportunities, so feel free to reach out via email (emma.myllynen@gmail.com), Instagram, or this form. :)
