Technique: pattern design, concept
As the name suggests, Seaspace is inspired by the sea and its diverse beauty. I explored the theme both above and below the surface, studying corals and sea plants as well as foam, waves, and reflections on the water. Shades of blue and green flow throughout the collection, while a warm apricot tone adds contrast and balance.
During the sketching phase, I experimented with a wide range of techniques, including cut-outs, digital drawing, ink, soap and acryla gouache on glass, gouache, colored pencils, and watercolors.

Seaspace is one of the concepts I developed during my freelance internship. The aim of the internship was to explore my personal style and design identity, study current trends and apply them to my own work, as well as develop my professional skills and ability to work independently. A key part of the project was to experiment with many techniques and step outside my comfort zone in preparation for an upcoming student exchange in Japan.
Before starting the internship, I visited the Heimtextil fair in Frankfurt to gather inspiration and discover the latest textile trends. I continued my research through WGSN reports, analyzing both pattern and color directions.
The freelance internship resulted in 11 patterns across three different themes. The Seaspace collection includes four patterns, each with several color variations.
